1. What is Liposculture?
Liposculture is a method to improve the body`s contour by
liposuction and it consists of three important principles:
the small diameters of the cannulas, the supeficial layer
of fat where the procedure is done and the possibility of
to transplantate the fat in order to fill and reshape some
areas of the body
The cannulas must be extremely fine as 3mm no more than 4mm.
These small cannulas allows to work in a very superficial
layer of the fat without let depressions on the skin. When
vacuumed only profoundly the fat tissue decreases, but not
always happens to be a contour with sinuous lines, the sinuousosity
necessary in the waist and buttocks in order to reach a female
contour. When the taking of fat is done in the most superficial
layers the necessary amount to be removed, to give an outcome,
is less than in the deepest one . In other hand ,vacuuming
first the superficial layers and going deeply , bit by bit,
from the outside to inside, gives more control of the shape
wished than if vacuuming it profoundly , exactly as a sculptour
do on the material wich he is working.
The fat took off by liposuction is not threw away and can
be transplanted in order to fills and reshapes parts where
volume is needed. The fat transplantated let a very natural
outcome, without “cellulites “aspect, and the
rate of absorption is about 40% in the buttocks area .The
main place reshaped by fat are the buttocks. Once most of
the women has got a deep depression in the sidelong of the
buttock (the trocantheric depression), which can incredibly
improve with the fat transplant, this procedure is very useful
and done very often. The buttocks can also be enlarged by
fat filling but the results are limited by the fat absorption,
so in cases where this augmentation is important the silicone
prostheses must be considered.
2. Difference between liposculture and
liposuction:
Liposculture is the traditional liposuction done profoundly
with no intention of great contour.
The liposculture is the modern procedure of liposuction according
to the principles above.
3. To whom is it for?
The liposculture had practically replaced the liposuction
in the surgery for body contour. Anyone who may need to contour
the body, decreasing fat deposit volume in many areas of it,
accentuate the waist, decrease the hips or having more volume
in the buttocks can have liposculture. It can be done from
adolescence to any age, depending exclusively on how flaccid
the patient’s body is.
TECHNICAL REPORT
Frequently asked questions
1- Anesthesia: epidural
2- Hospital admission: 1 day
3- Surgery time: the liposculture takes quite long time once
it is a manual procedure, therefore it must be made calm and
prudently and with plenty of concentration of the surgeon.
The surgeries can take from 2 to 4 hours.
4- What happens in the next week: the patient leaves the clinic,
can walk and have shower. The pain is of medium intensity,
it is more a discomfort than pain indeed. For example, if
the person is sitting without moving he or she will hardly
feel pain, but changing position might make it fell something
where it was vacuumed. The pain is similar to a muscular pain
of a hard gymnastic practice. It is no need to stay in bed,
but as the liposuction cause waste of blood proteins and electrolytes
it is usual the sensation of weakness, for this reason the
patient should avoid leaving home in the first three days
after operation and don`t make great physical effort.
5- Place of incisions: the incisions are small, mostly around
7 to 10cm away from the area to be vaccumed. Hardly the incisions
are bigger than 3 to 4mm and tend to have good cicatrisation
and let incouspicuous scars .
6- Lying down: the patients having fat tranplantation in the
buttocks must lay with the stomach down, or sideways for at
least 10 days, avoiding direct pressure on this place.
7- Returning to regular activities: should vary accordingly
to the extension of the liposuction, small liposuction –
only on two or three parts of the body – resting for
48 hours is more than enough. Liposuction which is done in
great area of the body, ideally is to be away from work from
5 to 7 days.
8- Precautions after surgery – on the long run: the
stitches are taken off within a week and a elastic girdle
is wear for at least 45 days. The elastic undergardment can
be taken off once a day for resting or washing.
