Technical report
1. Anesthesia – epidural or general
2. Internment: 2 days
3. Surgery time: about an hour
4. What happens on the next day?
The patient can seat down, walk, and take a shower. It might
feel a mild pain to strong intensity but that is easily avoided
by taking some pain relievers.
5. Draining: The draining is necessary
to avoid liquid pockets on the incision and it is maintained
for 48 hours.
6. Place of incision and scarring
The incision is done between the buttocks, staying that way,
totally hidden when the patient is standing up.
7. Lying down
To sleep the patient must lye down – on the stomach
- or sideways for about 7 to 10 days, avoiding this way, direct
pressure on the implant.
8. Place where the implant is put
Inside the biggest muscle of the human body, called gluteus
maximus. The implant is put exactly in the middle of the muscle,
keeping this way, the same amount of muscle in the front and
back. This way, the implant is masked and it seems natural.
9. Discharge from hospital
The patient can leave the hospital in 48 hours and can travel
– sitting normally - by car or plane.
10. The first week after surgery
After returning to your home, the patient on the first week
must rest. It is not necessary to rest on a bed, the patient
can walk and seat down still feeling a little bit of discomfort.
The great majority of patients can, between the forth and
the fifth day – go out for a little walk, for dinner.
11. Returning to regular activities
The great majority of patients can go back to their regular
activities in about ten days. On this day, the patient can
drive his/her car and go back to a regular routine that does
not demand great efforts. |
